Growing through divorce:

"Don't just go through it, grow through it," is the advice of author Jim Smoke, who's text, Growing Through Divorce is the basis of this seven week series, offered twice a year at Immanuel.

Divorce Recovery Workshop offers a blend of an educational-large group / support-small group approach. Many resources are offered which help you get through the tough times to see the tragedy of a marital breakup as a creative, watershed event which God can use to create positive change in your life. Our own Dr. James Stillwell, whose doctoral work was in the area of divorce recovery, leads most of the large group sessions. Trained facilitators, both male and female, help guide the discussion in the small groups.

A unique aspect of Immanuel's workshop has always been to offer workshops for children as well. A seven week workshop is offered for elementary age children and teens. Groups may also be offered for young adult children of divorce. Preschool child care is included.

Fall 2010 Divorce Recovery Workshop offers hope and education in an interdenominational atmosphere of acceptance. Small groups will discuss: Identity; Forgiveness; Assuming Responsibility; Letting Go; Single Parenting. The next workshop will be held September 27 - November 8. Suggested donation per person is $50 if pre-registered by September 22 ($60 after). Previous participants pay only $10. Age-appropriate workshops for children grades K-12 will also be offered (suggested donation per family is $15 if registered by September 17 or $35 after).

For a registration form, click here or contact Casey Evans by phone at 859-685-3337 or by email.

If you have a kindergarten through 5th grade child attending the workshop, please complete a child profile for them.
