David came to Immanuel during the summer of 1998 and immediately went to work laying the foundation for Recreational programs that reached beyond the walls of the church and into the community as well. His vision for ministry comes from his own background in sports and his salvation experience that brought him to faith in Christ through a dynamic recreation ministry in Merritt Island Florida. David believes the Recreation Ministry serves as a bridge that can lead people to Christ and into the church.

Programs such as "Upward Basketball" are open and available to everyone. Recent expansion in the Recreation & Outreach Center (or ROC) include a brand new Fitness Center with Cardio and Strength Training equipment. David also has responsibilities in the First Impressions Ministry. He has been in full-time ministry for more than 20 years while serving in churches in Louisiana and South Carolina before coming to Lexington Kentucky.

David attended seminary in New Orleans and received a Master of Divinity from the Baptist Seminary there. His desire is to see people not only reached through the Recreation Ministry of the church but also be ministered to while participating as well.
